Willow Workshops at Castle Gardens

Added on 12 January 2012

Local garden designer and willow artist Angela Morley will be at the Butterfly House at Castle Gardens in Sherborne running a series of Willow Workshops in January and February including Willow Dragonflies, Hearts, Wigwams and planters.

The first of the workshops, Willow Birds Nests, was held on 11th January and was a great success, Angela said: "There has been in a lot of interest in recent weeks for willow workshops to be run in the area and it is great that Mike Burks and the team at Castle Gardens have allowed us to use the Butterfly House for the workshops. The location is perfect and we had a lot of interest in the first course so hopefully this will continue."

Each course costs from £20 which includes materials, and experience is not necessary. Advance booking is essential as courses are limited to 10 people and booking forms can be picked up from Castle Gardens. The next Willow Workshops will take place on:

• Willow Dragonflies Wednesday 25th January 1-4pm £20: Have fun making a willow dragonfly for your garden (or home)

• Willow Hearts Friday 10th February 1-3pm £20: Using a simple weave make beautiful woven hearts using a range of natural materials

• Willow Wigwams Friday 24th February 1- 4pm £25: Make willow planters for your garden, these make a great focal point, add height to borders as well as provide support for sweet peas
