HO! HO! HO! Bells are ringing and something Christmassy is going on at Poundbury Gardens

Father Christmas will be arriving at Poundbury Gardens, at Poundbury in Dorchester - not on a sleigh, but on a shiny fire engine! The grand arrival will take place at 11am on Saturday 29th November and Father Christmas will be turning up in a fire engine from the impressive new Dorchester Fire Station which has just been declared operational at Poundbury.

Father Christmas will be taking up residence in his grotto at Poundbury Gardens from November 29th until December 21st and children are invited to come along and meet him - a charge of £4.50 will be made and donations will go to Weldmar Hospice Care Trust, a Dorset charity providing help and support to cancer patients.

"This is a great opportunity for families in the local area to visit Father Christmas and support a very worthwhile charity. Weldmar Trust provides a specialist care service to people in Dorset with cancer and other life threatening diseases and we are extremely pleased to be able to support the Charity which carries out exceptional work in the area. Father Christmas will be sitting in our special grotto so the atmosphere will be very special, we hope plenty of children will come along and have a chat and see our magical Christmas displays", commented Lucy Simpson, Manager at Poundbury Gardens.

Father Christmas will be in his grotto on four weekends from 29th November - 21st December. All children will need to be accompanied by an adult in the grotto and profits will be donated to the Weldmar Hospice Care Trust. "Last year was a great success and the event really brought the community together. We had a huge amount of families visiting Father Christmas whilst raising money for a good cause. We hope to see the same this year and would like to thank Poundbury Gardens for continuing to support the local community," commented Wally Gundry, Volunteer for the Weldmar Hospice Care Trust.
