Garden gets GOLD

Added on 09 September 2011

Last weekend we were busy at the Dorset County Show and we thought you might like to see the garden we designed and created especially for the Show. We named it, 'The Lost Art Of Gardening' as it was inspired by a painter's pallet. The garden was planted with a beautiful mixed border of flowers of different colours and these were carefully planted to blend together as if they were paint on an artist's pallet. Giant bamboo canes were planted along with some stunning grasses to represent paint brushes and the end result was a vibrant space to inspire artists when painting.

It was judged (much to our surprise as we just did it for fun) by a team of judges appointed by the Show who were so impressed they awarded us a GOLD medal!!

Talking of impressive, don't forget that Castle Gardens has the wonderful Clive Farrell in this Sunday at 11am - he will be giving a talk called 'Gardening for butterflies, moths and other animals' which is free to attend and Clive is truly an inspiring wildlife expert so this is one not to be missed.
