Mad Hatter's Tea Party

16 August 2013

Castle Gardens, Poundbury Gardens and Brimsmore Gardens

Jam tarts, eat-me cookies, a top hat decorating competition and a chance to meet the Mad Hatter himself, at The Mad Hatter's Tea Party on Friday 16 August from 2:45pm - 4:30pm - these are some of the things in store for kids and big kids at all three of The Gardens Group garden centres in Sherborne, Poundbury and Yeovil.

Winstones Books in Sherborne will donate the story of Alice in Wonderland for children's story time at Castle Gardens, as well as prizes for the best decorated top hat and cupcake. Children will be able to take 'tea' with Alice and The White Rabbit, while the adults receive a voucher for a cream tea, redeemable at The Walled Garden Restaurant, Castle Gardens, Sherborne in September, once the kids have gone back to school.

Mike Burks, managing director of The Gardens Group, explains: "We often notice that a lot of grandparents bring their grandchildren to our garden centres at this particular time of year, so we thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to provide some fun and free entertainment, so that everyone can enjoy their visit to the garden centre."
