Staff members at the Apple Tree Farm Shop and Apple Tree Restaurant at Brimsmore Gardens in Yeovil are celebrating after achieving a perfect FIVE STARS in 'Scores on the Doors', the food hygiene inspection scheme organised by South Somerset District Council.

Five stars is the top score food establishments can achieve so this is an excellent, and well deserved, result for both the Restaurant and Farm Shop. Cath Stuteley, Manager of the Apple Tree Farm Shop comments: "We put a lot of time and effort into training our staff and ensuring that both the farm shop and restaurant are as welcoming to customers as they can be. A five star rating shows that our hard work each day is paying off and we will continue to work as hard as we can to maintain this high standard."

Scores on the Doors is the number one national food hygiene rating scheme for food businesses and it offers a uniform rating system to raise hygiene levels within an area as a whole and it is designed to help customers to make informed choices about where they shop and eat.

"The judges arrive anonymously and unannounced to score each establishment fairly and I agree with this kind of unannounced judging as it shows that we are always prepared. I'm pleased for the whole garden centre team as this award reflects the commitment we feel to our customers not just in the plants we sell but in the whole experience of visiting Brimsmore" finished Cath.
