A buzz about bees at Brimsmore Gardens

Added on 12 June 2017

From hives and honey to the Queen and her worker bees, gardeners of all ages will be able to delve into the incredible world of bees and discover the art of beekeeping at Brimsmore Gardens on Saturday 24 June from 1pm – 5pm. Thanks to the Somerset Beekeepers’ Association, visitors to this free family event will be able to take a tour of a live demonstration hive in action, learn all about the different roles each bee has and see how the honey is produced.

Karen Hillard, deputy manager of Brimsmore Gardens, explains; “Looking after bees that visit the garden is something we try and encourage in the garden centre, recommending plenty of bee-friendly plants wherever possible. This event is all about giving families a deeper understanding about how important bees are in our environment and how we can all do our bit to keep them busy and make some delicious honey along the way.”
